This week has held a lot of things for me. With all of the things that have been going on, I think that the sermon my dad shared on Sunday really spoke some calm into my whirlwind of trying to balance preparing to move to college, see friends, trying to be a good person, and pray for those who need prayer.
There were two points that really stuck with me; the first was that God's never changing love does not leave us destroyed, and that he loves us despite our flaws. This spoke volumes to me because it reminded me that I am not perfect, but God loves me just the way I am and he does not expect me to be perfect.
Another thing that really hit me was the question "Do you trust Him enough to know that He has your best interest in mind regardless of what is going on around you?" Oof. I know that I often struggle with remembering that. This really stuck with me because I know that sometimes I want to be in control of the situation, even though many times it's not mine to control. My mom often gently reminds me that the only thing you can control is how you react. Trust is often made out to be something that you just do, but trust is hard. I often forget that trust is a process, and I need to ask God for help to trust Him, and to know that His way is always better than mine.

Outdoor Worship & Baptism Service – August 26
We’ll have our annual outdoor worship service at Crystal Beach Park in Burnsville on Sunday, August 26 at 10am. We'll worship together, celebrate believer baptisms at the lake and then spend time in community over a picnic lunch. This is a great opportunity to invite someone to church in a beautiful setting outside in God's creation. Grilled meat, beverages, chips, condiments and dinnerware will be provided. Last names A-L, please bring a DESSERT to share; M-Z please bring a SIDE or SALAD to share. We recommend bringing lawn chairs for your comfort. Bring some games to play too! Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to join us at the Ministry Center (7707 147th St W, Apple Valley) from 6:30-8pm on Wednesday nights for a time of teaching, activities, and groups that focus on encountering Jesus, building meaningful relationships, and restoring hope to the world. Students in grades 6-8 begin Sunday mornings in the worship service. On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, they are sent to the café for discussion and activities that complement the Sunday morning message.

Students in grades 6-12, join us for a Lock-In overnight at the Ministry Center on Saturday, September 22. There will be food, countless fun activities, and perhaps a little bit of staying up late. Meet at the Ministry Center (7707 147th St W, Apple Valley) at 6pm. Dinner, snacks, and a light breakfast in the morning will be provided. Cost is $7/student. Bring a sleeping bag and air mattress, if possible. Students can be picked up at 9am on Sunday morning. Invite your friends! Students in grades 6-12, join us this MEA break for a retreat to Covenant Pines. This is a great way for you to take a small step back from life and refocus on your relationship with God. Grades 6-8 will go from Oct 17-19 and grades 9-12 will go from Oct 19-21.
