“I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’
Malachi 3:6-7

This week has held a lot of things for me. With all of the things that have been going on, I think that the sermon my dad shared on Sunday really spoke some calm into my whirlwind of trying to balance preparing to move to college, see friends, trying to be a good person, and pray for those who need prayer.
There were two points that really stuck with me; the first was that God's never changing love does not leave us destroyed, and that he loves us despite our flaws. This spoke volumes to me because it reminded me that I am not perfect, but God loves me just the way I am and he does not expect me to be perfect.
Another thing that really hit me was the question "Do you trust Him enough to know that He has your best interest in mind regardless of what is going on around you?" Oof. I know that I often struggle with remembering that. This really stuck with me because I know that sometimes I want to be in control of the situation, even though many times it's not mine to control. My mom often gently reminds me that the only thing you can control is how you react. Trust is often made out to be something that you just do, but trust is hard. I often forget that trust is a process, and I need to ask God for help to trust Him, and to know that His way is always better than mine.
I hope that all of you have a blessed week!
In Christ,
Dorothy White
