Our History

It started with a dream…actually it started while I was staring at some “broken pieces” of my life, my job and my world. 9/11, broken families, the great recession, and over-scheduled living. People constantly connected through cell phones and social media, yet feeling more anxious and isolated than ever before.

I had been talking to God about this, asking him if there was a different way, a better way. And then a friend invited me on a mission trip to Honduras. We lived and worked in a small village on the side of a mountain that even the people who live in the large cities in Honduras don’t think about and as I was praying about this community’s brokenness and my own community’s brokenness.

I heard the inaudible but unmistakable voice of God telling me, ‘Here (in Honduras), the people’s only hope is Jesus; they have no other options in these small, poor, remote villages. But there (where I live), people have all kinds of options to put their hope in—jobs, money, houses, spouses, kids, cars, vacations, activities—so many in fact, that people don’t even think to put their hope in my Son and Savior, Jesus. I want you to invite a community of people, ordinary, authentic, and yes, broken people, to be restored by Jesus and to bring hope to the world, starting where you are and going wherever I send you.’

Well, 10 years later, that’s what Restoration Covenant Church is all about. We are bringing hope to our world by sharing acts of love through food outreaches, community gardens, and Christmas gifts, and speaking words of truth through prayer, teaching, small groups, kids classes, and as each one of us join with Jesus to live as an everyday mission agent wherever God has placed them. We believe that people who have been restored with Jesus must help others be restored with Jesus, so they can help others be restored with Jesus.

Our Values

Christ Centered

We believe Jesus changes everything for everyone. Since Jesus restores us to God, we can live in Christ every day in all that we do. Luke 9:23-24, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Authentic People

We aren’t perfect people and we don’t pretend to be, so relax and be yourself and discover who Jesus really is. John 1:38-39, 14:9

Accepting Community

We do not live our faith alone; we choose community and we welcome others with grace like Jesus did. Luke 5:30-32, 19:10

Serving Humbly

The Church exists for those not yet in it, so we generously send people out to share hope in Jesus Christ through words of truth and acts of love. Mark 10:43-45, Isaiah 61:1

Our Beliefs

We have two essential beliefs: (1) We believe that every person needs to confess Jesus Christ as Savior and commit to follow him as Lord; (2) We believe that the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is the word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct. We are unified by the central beliefs of the Evangelical Covenant Church:

  • We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
  • We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
  • We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church.
  • We affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers.
  • We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
  • We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.

A Letter from the Pastor

Dear friend-I-haven’t-met-yet,

Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Rob and I’m the lead pastor of this spiritual family called Restoration Covenant Church. Our dream is that you would join with Jesus to transform communities! What does that look like? Well, a couple decades ago, when I didn’t even know what good things God had placed in me, someone saw what I couldn’t see, and invited me into this adventure of following Jesus to bring hope to the world.

People need hope, and they can search for it in their jobs, their spouse, their house, their cars, their kids, their sports (or sports teams), their stocks, their hobbies, or their friends, but the only place to find true and lasting hope is in Jesus Christ.

At Restoration, we believe everyone has a story and everyone who says YES! to Jesus is part of God’s plan to bring true and lasting hope. We strive to be the church that people in the community would miss if we weren’t there. We pray for and give towards tangible needs at a local school to live out Jesus’ mission. We serve together, learn together, pray together, sing together and laugh together, because we are a spiritual family. We are a multi-generational community who needs Jesus’ restoration in our lives and needs to share that restoration with those who may never step foot through our doors.

When you walk through our doors, you will meet friendly, authentic people and experience a charmingly unpolished worship gathering where you will hear and feel the unending love Jesus has for you, no matter where you’ve come from or where you are.

I’d love to get to know your name and your story.
