A door of great opportunity stands wide open for me, but there are many opponents.
1 Corinthians 16:9 NET

“I’m hopeful for the first time in quite a while.”
I’ve been face to face with a handful of people in the past weeks that have expressed this in some way:
- A young adult seeing God’s presence and protection through a dark season.
- A young married couple hearing the news, ‘The cancer didn’t spread. We are confident we removed all of it.’
- Another couple in the midst of marital struggles.
- A young parent in the midst of challenging child behaviors.
- Parents who finally received answers to their child’s health mysteries.
I don’t know about you, but I see plenty of whiners, complainers, and haters in the world, probably because it’s easier to criticize someone else’s efforts than it is do the difficult work of restoring what is broken in our world, in our relationships and in ourselves.
Each of the situations I mentioned are still ‘on the way,’ meaning they are not completed, finished or whole but they are on the way, and that makes it hopeful.
When was the last time you felt hopeful? Hope is crucial but it won’t carry us to completion. Hope can be the catalyst for change, but faithful actions are what will bring us there. Restoring What’s Broken is about taking action by the power of the Holy Spirit for the good of the world. It’s about overcoming opposition and obstacles. Sometimes we encounter opposition, not because we are doing something wrong, but because we are doing something right. 1 Corinthians 16:9 says, “A door of great opportunity stands wide open for me, but there are many opponents.”
I hope you will join us for this teaching series about Ezra, Nehemiah, and all of us starting this Sunday.
Peace and Joy,
Rob

Restoring What's Broken
Complainers, haters, self-proclaimed experts, and armchair quarterbacks fill our screens and our world. They all theorize, analyze, and criticize the problems in the world, but what is most needed are people who don’t simply just talk about a situation but who will take action on it! The Bible tells of a person who saw a problem, felt the pain, and then did something about it. This person believed God could use his talents to get the job done. Very little went smoothly, both externally and internally, but we can learn much from this story for our lives today. Do you have dreams for a better future? Join us to discover what happens when we combine our dreams with dedication and God’s leading in Restoring What’s Broken, a series about Ezra, Nehemiah, and all of us starting on February 24.

P3 Retreat – April 6
P3 = Pray, Play, Plan
Every spring, Restoration’s staff, ministry team leaders and members of the Leadership Team meet to pray, play and plan for the year ahead. We reflect and listen to how God has been working and leading us and then we play and plan how we can best respond as a church towards the vision God is calling us to. These plans are then shared and reviewed for approval at our annual Vision Meeting in June. This year's P3 retreat will be held on Saturday, April 6 from 8:30am-3:30pm at the Ministry Center. First and foremost, we ask for your prayers for this important day. If you have specific prayers, input, ideas, or revelation from God for our church or for a particular ministry, we highly encourage you to share them with a Ministry Team Leader or with the Leadership Team before March 25. Contact John Schroeder with any questions: JohnSchroeder@restorationcov.org.

What We're Learning in February

Toddlers & Preschoolers
We can’t think of a better time to teach preschoolers about how much Jesus loves them than February— the month of love! And how much does Jesus love preschoolers? Well, the same as He loves you and me—A LOT! In fact, there is nothing wider or longer or higher or deeper than the love Jesus has for you and the preschoolers in your life. This month, our goal is for preschoolers to know Jesus loves them and that nothing will ever change that. To do that, we’ve planned some super fun, hands-on-activities and are ready to tell amazing Bible stories in ways that will engage young minds. We also have some colorful, little love bugs joining us!
Memory Verse: “How wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Ephesians 3:18, NIV

Elementary
In February, we will be talking about the connection between service and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Jesus demonstrated what serving really means by washing His disciples’ feet and even laying down His life for the sins of the world. We reflect His character to the people around us when we lend a hand and serve.
Memory Verse: “Jesus sat down and called for the 12 disciples to come to him. Then he said, ‘Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. They must be the servant of everyone.’” Mark 9:35, NIrV
